Uzor Maxim Uzoatu and Wasafiri

Print E-mail

ImageNigerian author Uzor Maxim Uzoatu was recently shortlisted for the Caine Prize, Africa’s foremost literary award (described as ‘the African Booker’) for his short story ‘Cemetery of Life,’ which appeared last year in creative writing magazine Wasafiri.

It was a great honour for Wasafiri to have a story that had been published in one of its issues on this prestigious shortlist. Wasafiri, now fast approaching its twenty-fifth anniversary, continues to be one of the best magazines for ‘tomorrow’s writing today,’ bringing new voices to the British literary scene as well as showcasing well-known, established authors in the fields of migrant and diasporic literature.
