 Lifetime resident of Pietermaritzburg and teacher at various schools there for over 45 years, Shanthee Manjoo launched her memoir, Classrooms in the Shade at three gala functions where hundreds turned out to pay tribute to her. The venues were the Msunduzi Museum in Pietermaritzburg, the Playhouse in Durban and Constitution Hill in Johannesburg.
