KZN Literary Tourism Authors to Appear at Essence Festival Print

The Essence Festival, currently being held in Durban, has a line-up of talented artists and speakers from around the world. We are excited that a number of KZN Literary Tourism authors will be making appearances to promote their literary exploits.

Famed activist, actor, storyteller, poet, playwright and recent SALA award winnerGcina Mhlophe revealed that she will be the Key Note Speaker today at the Opening of the Book Fair with local and international authors. On the 11th she will do a morning storytelling session with music. On the 13th she will be performing stories and doing book signings. Copies of her books and CDs will also be available for sale.


SoPhia authoress, Shafinaaz Hassim, will be part of a panel discussion on Friday (11th) at 1-2pm at the ARTiculate Book fair being held at the International Convention Centre. On Sunday (13th) the official Book Launch for her latest novel, Nisa Qamar and the Master of Jinniaville, will take place at 3pm at the ARTiculate Africa Book fair – also at the Durban ICC.

Our recent addition to the KZN Literary Tourism archive, Ishara Maharaj, will be in conversation with Ameera Patel on Sunday, November 13 from 1-2pm. Maharaj is the author of Namaste Life.
